AveryQ FAQ

Answers to the questions families ask before trusting AveryQ — a privacy-first, zero-knowledge family document vault.

Last updated: 6 July 2026

What is AveryQ?

AveryQ is a privacy-first, zero-knowledge family document vault with a free plan to start. It stores your family's documents, passwords, financial records and emergency contacts in one place, encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your own device, so only you can read them.

Is AveryQ really free?

AveryQ has a free plan you can use with no credit card — core categories and limited storage. When you need more, paid plans add extra categories and space: Plus (₹149/month) and Complete (₹399/month), with custom Enterprise pricing on request. Every plan uses the same zero-knowledge AES-256-GCM encryption. See full pricing →

How does zero-knowledge encryption work?

Zero-knowledge means your encryption key is derived from your master password on your device and never sent to or stored on any server. AveryQ only ever holds encrypted ciphertext, so no one — including Altrix Labs — can read your data.

What can I store in AveryQ?

Records across 17 categories: family members, fixed assets, investments and valuables, movable assets, loans, bank accounts, cards, insurance, documents, passwords, income and expenses, businesses, health records, travel documents, warranties, subscriptions and emergency contacts — plus encrypted file attachments.

What happens if I forget my master password?

Your vault cannot be recovered. Because AveryQ never stores your password or keys, there is nothing to reset. Keep your master password somewhere safe and offline.

How do I share access with my family?

You can share selected sections through a secure link whose decryption key lives only in the link, never on a server. Set what recipients can see and revoke access instantly at any time.

Is AveryQ DPDP Act 2023 compliant?

AveryQ is designed to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, building in data minimisation, purpose limitation, storage limitation, data security and your rights to access and erase your data.

Does AveryQ meet US privacy & security standards?

AveryQ is built to support your rights under California's CCPA/CPRA and follows the SOC 2 security and confidentiality principles, on Google Cloud infrastructure that maintains SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certification. Health and financial records get the same end-to-end encryption, in line with the confidentiality principles behind HIPAA and GLBA. This describes our architecture and is not legal advice.

Is AveryQ UK GDPR compliant?

AveryQ is designed to align with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 — supporting your rights to access, correct, port and erase your data. Our practices follow ISO 27001 principles and the UK's Cyber Essentials controls, on ISO 27001-certified Google Cloud infrastructure. This describes our architecture and is not legal advice.

Where is my data stored?

Your encrypted vault is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in Mumbai, India. Because it is encrypted on your device before upload, only you can read it — the storage provider cannot.

Where is my data stored?

Your encrypted vault is stored on Google Cloud in Mumbai, India — not in the US. We disclose this plainly rather than claim US-local storage. Because your data is encrypted on your device before upload and only you hold the key, no provider in any country can read it, even in a breach.

Where is my data stored?

Your encrypted vault is stored on Google Cloud in Mumbai, India — not in the UK. Because it is encrypted on your device before upload and only you hold the key, that encryption is the safeguard for the international transfer. We disclose this plainly rather than claim UK-local storage.

Which devices and browsers does AveryQ work on?

AveryQ runs in modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) on mobile, tablet and desktop. It is a progressive web app you can install to your home screen, and the app shell works offline.

Can AveryQ or Altrix Labs read my data?

No. Your data is encrypted on your device before it reaches any server, and your key never leaves your device. Even in the event of a server breach, only encrypted ciphertext would be exposed.

How do I get started?

Open the app, sign in with Google or email, sign a short consent, and set a master password. Then add your records or photograph documents for AI auto-fill.
